Charlotte’s 4 Original Wards
Talk about a make over, the story of Uptown Charlotte and its four original wards is truly a story about a place that no longer exists, at least not in any resemblance of its original founding.
One of the basic tenants of early development however still flourishes, and that is its walk-ability. However the size of city center grew greatly and in the early part of the 20th century a trolly car system was developed to assist basic transportation in the area.
First Ward
The First Ward was completely renovated in the early 1990′s yet has a selection of Condos and Homes both new and re-built. The First Ward is also home to the Imagination Museum, Spirit Square Arts Center, Timewarner Arena of the Charlotte Bobcats, and approximately a thousand residents.
