Homewood Alabama Real Estate and Homes for Sale

Homes for Sale in Homewood

Welcome to Homewood Alabama one of the more popular suburbs of Birmingham and according to Walkscore.com the most walkable city in the state.

The most walkable city status is no surprise to locals familiar with Homewood’s people friendly town center and of course it’s Soho Square scattered with retail shops, great restaurants, and entertainment venues not to mention the Condo complexes that place these facilities at your doorstep.

On the real estate side of things, a great percentage of houses available in Homewood are made up of small craftsman styled bungalows and many of them have already undergone renovations. Moreover it is also important to note the Homewood has a large number of rentals and condo complexes and this segment of the population is significant. What follows is a brief real estate summary of the most popular areas of town.

Edgewood Homes for Sale

Edgewood is the largest and oldest of the Homewood neighborhoods and if you are partial to older neighborhoods with mature tree lined by-ways with plenty of pocket parks and trails then Edgewood is certainly worth a good look see.

Homewood Condos for Sale

The Condo lifestyle attacks young professionals, single and married,  looking for a walkable and more urban setting and in this case Homewood does not disappoint. From upscale Hallman Hill with pricing above $300k to Broadway Park that starts in the low to mid $100′s there are plenty of units to choose from.

Mayfair Homes for Sale

There are a couple of upscale Homewood neighborhoods that are worthy of mention and one of them happens to be Mayfair.  Mayfair was founded in the 1940′s thus it is traditional yet given the renovations and modernization of the last few years Mayfair is also an undated community. A bit more pricey than the majority of Homewood but also less expensive than its sister neighborhood Hollywood.

Hollywood Homes for Sale

Hollywood AL was once its own municipality in the early 1900′s prior to being annexed by Homewood and is ‘the’ Homewood neighborhood, so to speak if you are in the upscale or historic segment of the Homewood market.  Architecturally modeled after its California namesake you will find a fascinating group of stuccoed and flat roofed homes with a southwestern US styling, however look to pay above $350k.
